What is Being Fearless?

Written 6/3/15

November of last year I embarked on my journey to fearlessness which I wrote about previously. For the past 7 months I can say that I have been living fearlessly. I recently got a tattoo on my side of the word “fearless”, and it is now occurring to me that many may not understand what it actually means. To be fearless is to live despite my fears. It means that no matter what doubts I have about my goals and my future, I continue to push towards those goals anyway.  In the past, I have walked past opportunities and given up goals because I was unsure and afraid of what was to come– I was fearful. I naturally have a lot of fears and anxiety about the future, which probably stems from my struggles to be “perfect”. But I made the decision to own up to my fears and be strong and push through despite.

To be fearLESS is to be faithFULL.

In order to be completely fearless I have to have complete faith that God will lead and guide me to the place I need to be. Consequently, I am able to walk by faith and completely give my fears up to God. There are a few things this year that I am taking on and trying to achieve that I am unsure of. I do not know if I will succeed; I do not know how my dreams will unfold; however I am stepping out on faith and without fear to move forward. Through this journey I have decreased my anxiety levels and strengthened my relationship with God even more. This is what my tattoo symbolizes. It symbolizes this time period and mind set. It symbolizes me using my weaknesses to only get stronger.

My journey is nowhere near complete, but I had the urge to get a reminder permanently etched into me (literally, LOL).
