Dear 2019,
What a year you have been! You have shown me so much. This year was filled with highs and lows, laughter and sadness, happiness and tears. I traveled and created so many great memories. I was determined and worked hard. I was faced with uncertainty and change, but I was also met with stability and comfort. I was challenged to have difficult conversations, but I also found the courage to do so. I was able to release resentment and learned how to love in spite of.
Thank you for reminding me that I am young and need to have fun. Thank you for showing me how to do that. Thank you for the healing that was done; thank you for the scars. Thank you for showing me that I am supported. Thank you for the love I felt. Thank you for helping me find my voice, and thank you for the confidence to use it. Thank you for being my “Season of Singleness”, and thank you for the constant affirmations for that decision. Thank you for the time to work to on me.
Thank you for reminding me that my life, is my life. And I can live it however I want. This year was amazing in every way. As I enter 2020 and enter this new decade, I will take the lessons you taught me and apply them. I will remember to be gentle with myself because I am still learning. I will remember that it is okay to have boundaries and that I don’t have to apologize for it. And I will definitely remember that I cannot pour from an empty cup, so I must always remember to care for myself before I can even think about caring for others.
Thank you again, 2019! Bye, Girl!!
